Washington Street Elementary School Principal Angela Watkins believes that new teachers need some time to bond with each other and to get to know the administrative team better.
For this reason, she takes them off campus once a month to relax and to learn more about Richmond County. On Oct. 28, the group visited Hitchcock Creek at the Steele Street location.
Emily Koslosky, a recent graduate of Georgia Southern, remarked, “It’s a breath of fresh air to get away from school for a little while. It gives us a chance to get to know the other new teachers better as well.”
In September, the group visited Hinson Lake. This is one of the many efforts of WSS to attract and retain new teachers to our area.
