Authorities seek 2 escaped inmates from Hoffman prison

Two men expected to be released from prison in late 2015 escaped late Sunday night by climbing over the fence at Morrison Correctional Institution near Hoffman. The incident was first reported by WRAL.com.

The facility is an all-male minimum-security center with a capacity of 801, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety website.

State and local authorities are looking for Jacob Pilkington, 20, and Frankie Noles, 22. Pilkington has ties to Rowan County and Noles has ties to McDowell County, authorities said.

Pilkington was serving sentences for felony breaking and entering and other charges. His projected release date was November 2015. Noles was serving sentences for felony breaking and entering and other charges. His projected release date was December 2015.

Anyone with information about either man is asked to call local law enforcement or the prison at 910-281-3161.
