Military veterans will staff a Christmas tree sales stand at the site of the former Whitley’s Discount Auto Sales lot on Highway 74 Business in Rockingham.
Located at 1026 E. Broad Ave., Frasier fur trees will be available starting at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Afterwards, the tree lot will be open from 8:30 a.m. to nearly 8 p.m. each day and after 1 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.
The price will start at $40. They’ll be fresh, too — cut on Friday, they’ll be between 6 and 12 feet tall.
This year, said Sam Standridge, fundraising chairman, AmVets Post 316 will receive 100 percent of the proceeds.
