Amateur radio club November notes

RCARCThe Richmond County Amateur Ham Radio Club met Saturday, Nov 8, at the Hamlet Library with eight regular members, two new members joining and one visitor in attendance.

One item of business was the new FCC ruling, effective July 2014, which would be of particular interest to previously licensed ham operators whose license has expired. Almost any level license can be renewed by passing the technician level written test.

Interested parties are invited to attend the next testing session, to be held Saturday, Dec. 6, in Rockingham at the Leath Library, 9:30 a.m. for testing or just to obtain further details of this new ruling.

The next meeting of the RCARC will be Saturday, Dec. 13 at 9:30 am at the Hamlet Library. Parties interested in becoming a Ham Radio Operator or Club Member are invited to visit the club meeting. Specifics about RCARC can be found at richmondcountyarc.org.
