3 arrested in home invasion

Moore County Sheriff Neil Godfrey reports that at about 3:48 p.m. on Nov. 15, his office received a call from a resident on Ed Lane in the Carthage area of Moore County in reference to a possible shooting.

Moore County Sheriff’s Office deputies, investigators and Moore County Emergency Services personnel responded to the scene. The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released. The victim told deputies two armed males entered his home and attempted to rob him.

Investigators were able to identify three suspects with evidence and information collected at the scene.

On Nov. 17, Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Daquan Tyrrell Ross, 23, of Carthage. Ross was charged with one count of felony attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, one count of felony conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count felony breaking and entering, one count assault by pointing a gun and one count simple assault.

Ross was confined in the Moore County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond.

On Nov. 17, Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Seth Gattis Andre Evans, 25, of Fayetteville. Evans was charged with one count of felony attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, one count of felony conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of felony possession of a firearm by a felon, one count felony breaking and entering, one count assault by pointing a gun and one count simple assault.

Evans was confined in the Moore County Detention Center under a $135,000 secured bond.

On Nov. 18, Sheriff’s Office investigators arrested Fredrick Carl Clay Jr., of Fayetteville. Clay was charged with one count of felony attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count felony assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, one count of felony conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, one count of felony possession of a firearm by a felon, one count felony breaking and entering, one count assault by pointing a gun and one count simple assault.

Clay was confined in the Moore County Detention Center under a $15,000 secured bond.

All three men are scheduled to appear on Dec. 9 in Moore County District Court.
