Writers club group grows around ghostly stories

The Richmond County Writers’ Club held its monthly meeting at The Hive Recreation Center in East Rockingham on  Sunday, Oct. 5, with two new members joining the regulars to share some of their original work.

Being October, there were short stories about a master fiddler who claimed his prize, ghostly noises though the dog was no longer alive, a poem about a family fortune hidden behind bricks in the wall, notations from a future biography of family historical value and examples of creations of poems put to music.

Members were invited to “Open Mic” night in Laurinburg to hear or share stories and reminded of the John Blue National Storytellers later in October. The Richmond County Writers’ Club invites anyone interested in sharing their original work to attend meetings, held each month, first Sunday, 3 pm, at The Hive Rec Center on Mill Road.
