The Richmond County Health Department will offer the Seasonal Influenza (Flu) and Pneumonia vaccines between the hours of 8am-11am and 1pm-5pm beginning Monday, October 6, 2014 with no appointment necessary.
The vaccines will be available during these hours Monday-Thursday and from 8-11am on Fridays. The Richmond County Health Department is located at 127 Caroline Street in Rockingham. The vaccine(s) will be provided at no charge to patients with the following insurance (who provide their insurance card): North Carolina Medicaid, Medicare Part B, Railroad Medicare, Med-Cost, North Carolina Health Choice, First Carolina Care, BCBS of NC, United, Wells Fargo and Cigna.
The cost for the flu vaccine for those without insurance listed above is $33.00 and the cost for the pneumonia vaccine for those without insurance listed above will be $60.00.
Annual influenza vaccination is the most effective method for preventing influenza virus infection and its complications. Influenza vaccine can be administered to any person aged >6 months who does not have contraindications to vaccination to reduce the likelihood of becoming ill with influenza or of transmitting influenza to others.
