Raider Band changes Saturday competition venue

The Richmond Marching Raiders participated in the seventh annual Band Fest 2014 at
Pinecrest High School on Saturday and received multiple awards, including a first-place finish in percussion and second place in color guard.

The Raiders competed within the Class A band division and is scheduled to go on the field at 4:15 p.m.

The Marching Raiders travel to Western Harnett in Lillington to compete in the Eagle Classic Marching Band Competition. The unit had originally been scheduled to participate in the Fin Fest competition in Murrells Inlet, S.C. A reason for the change was not immediately provided.

The band is scheduled to perform in at least five more football games as well as parades and competitions through Dec. 31 — not including any playoff games. The next football game is scheduled for Oct. 10 at Raider Stadium against Hoke. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
