Obituary: Marjorie Sellers

CORDOVA, N.C. — Marjorie Wilson Sellers, 82, of Cordova, died Friday, Sept. 26, 2014 at Hamlet House.

She was born Dec. 11, 1931 in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Dellie Stephen and Tine Hester Wilson.

Mrs. Seller was a lifelong member of Cordova Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Secretary for many years and was recently awarded Sunday school perfect attendance for 21 consecutive years. She retired from Burlington Industries Richmond Plant in 1996 with 46 years of service, the last 25 years as receptionist and switchboard operator.

She was preceded in death by her only child Robert Sellers in 1975 and her husband Perry Sellers in 1982.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Cordova Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Monroe and Dr. A.B. Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park.

Surviving, A sister, Eva W. Moore of Salisbury; nieces, Winona Gibson and Judy Wilson Cagle of Rockingham; nephews, Russell Clarke of Atlanta, Ga., Steve Clarke of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Neal Gibson of Irmo, S.C., Richard Gibson of St. Augustine, Fla, Milton Gibson of Fort Mill, S.C., Jerald Gibson of White Lake, N.C. and David Wilson of Asheboro.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham.

    To this lady… that has always treated me as her own, I will never forget you. I do find comfort in the fact that you devoted so much of your life to our Lord Jesus Christ and tried your best to never fail that.
