Trey McInnis and John Pittman have been selected to represent Richmond Senior High School and compete for North Carolina State’s Park Scholarship.

The Park Scholarship is one of the most prestigious undergraduate merit scholarships in the nation. The four-year award is valued at about $75,000 for North Carolina residents. A stipend for the purchase of a personal computer is also provided along with additional funding for academic enrichment activities, involving special trips, retreats, seminars and grant opportunities.

The Park Scholarship was established in 1996, for the Late Roy H. Park, a 1931 NC State alumnus.

These two students will advance to the next level of competition. On Dec. 19, all semifinalists will be notified. Semifinalists will then be interviewed on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11. On Jan. 28, selected semifinalists are notified of finalist status. On March 5, selected finalists are notified of award status.
