Hamlet Police seek help in identifying debit card fraud suspect

HAMLET — The Hamlet Police Department is investigating an alleged debit card fraud case that took place in Hamlet.

The alleged incident occurred on Sept. 20, when a white female wearing sun glasses and an orange T-shirt with the words “GO BEAR CATS” on it, used the victim’s debit card at the Cash Points ATM in Hamlet. Less than $100 was taken from her account at the time. Police said the suspect attempted to use the card a second time but victim had the financial institution cancel the card.

BEARCATS3Police said the woman could be from Anson County, as the Bearcats is are associated with Anson High School in Wadesboro.

Hamlet Police has a photo of suspect at the ATM where the card was used and video from a local store where the card was obtain by the suspect. If anyone can tell us who this person is, please call Hamlet Police Department 910-582-2551.
