A Rockingham teen accused in May of shooting someone during an argument in Hamlet was arrested again Sunday, charged this time with breaking and entering into a church on Eason Drive in Rockingham.
Richmond County sheriff’s deputies said they arrived to see a white male running from the building. Jacob Trey McKenzie, 17, of West Eason Drive, was arrested a short distance away. It was discovered that McKenzie had broken into the church but had not taken anything.
McKenzie was charged with breaking and entering into a place of worship and injury to real property. He was placed in Richmond County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
