The 24 Karat Club of the Southeastern United States is proud to announce that Eddie Mabe, of Helms Jewelers in Rockingham, is the winner of their 2014 scholarship award.
David Peters, chair of the Scholarship Committee, 24 Karat Club SEUS announced the prestigious award stating that Mabe’s application package, “was very impressive, and the 24 Karat Club is delighted to provide you with this funding to help you pursue your academic and professional goals.”
Peters continued by saying, “The 24 Carat Club SEUS is extremely pleased to make this scholarship award to such a deserving individual.”
Mabe’s scholarship was made possible by a generous grant from the Diamond Council of America, an accredited school offering professional certifications in diamonds, colored gemstones, and jewelry sales. Mabe will first pursue an accredited degree in the diamond program.
Eddie Mabe joined the staff at Helms Jewelers, downtown Rockingham in 2013. He has since become proficient in jewelry repairs with training and graduation from the Blair School for Jewelers. He has also participated in extensive customer service training and attendance at regional trade shows.
Helms Jewelers is a full line, fine jewelry store that has been serving the residents of Richmond County since 1894. Steve and Cynthia Morris have owned the business for the past 40 years.
