ROCKINGHAM — Officers with the Rockingham Police Department and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office nabbed a Rockingham man on Monday wanted on connection with a shooting Saturday on Cauthen Drive, south of Broad Avenue.
It’s at least the second shooting in the area near the Crown Pointe apartment complex since Feb. 21.
On Monday, Kevin Robert Williams, 20, of Watson Avenue, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, discharging a firearm within city limits, possession of a handgun by a minor and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The victim, Jaquale Isaac, 20, was treated and released on Saturday.
Williams is being held at Richmond County Jail on $25,000 secured bond.
