Joey Bostick, president of the Ellerbe Lions Club, announced late Sunday night that lawn mower racing will return to the Ellerbe.
Testing wil resumé Saturday, July 26 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Ellerbe Lions Club Speedway.
This follows a suspension of racing for more than a month. On June 14, the club announced that racing would be suspended indefinitely. Track manager Kermit Perkins came into a disagreement with club officials, who own the speedway but had contracted with Perkins handle all things race-related.
“We will have the new race schedules ready then also,” Bostick posted on the club’s Facebook page. “All drivers, crew or anyone in the pits must buy a pit pass. Look forward to seeing everyone there. Thanks.”
Late Sunday night, Bostick told The Pee Dee Post by text that “Rex Crouch Jr. will be managing the lawn mower track practice this Saturday.”
