A local photographer is looking to help preserve memories of area churches for future use.

Bryon R. Campbell, a regular contributor to RockinghamMemories.net, said he started the project about two weeks ago. His goal is to take group photos of church members in front of the church in order to preserve tomorrow’s history today.

Campbell can be reach by email for photo requests at bryon4photo4u@yahoo.com. Campbell said he will take the photo at no cost, and provide a digital image to the church. It’s up to the church how that photo is used, he said.

Campbell has a number of photo albums on the website, including a gallery of butterfly photos of which he is particularly proud. Other albums include photos of car shows, Independence Day celebrations and Christmas photos as well as nature and animal pictures.

RockinghamMemories.net is a website dedicated to the history of Rockingham and Richmond County, North Carolina. Started in 2002 by Joel H. Bailey, the website is a collection of childhood memories, personal stories and some history of growing up in and around Rockingham.
