TROY — The scoreboard will say the Rockingham Ponytails were perfect.

No, they aren’t. But they sure were good enough to secure the District All-Star 11-12 championship Monday night at Peabody Community Park in Troy with a 4-0 win over South Stanly in the title game.

Rockingham won twice on Saturday in the double elimination tournament — 10-0 vs. West Stanly and 2-0 against Montgomery County — to advance to the title game.

As of 8:36 p.m., the Angels (13-14) were up 3-0 in their district championship game.

 

‘Darling’ matchup: Anson 6, Rockingham 3

TROY — Rockingham finished as district runner-ups after Monday’s 6-3 loss to Anson County.
