Drug trafficking holds Hamlet man on $100,000 bond

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jessie James Womble Jr. on June 12 at his Hamlet home for warrants where law enforcement officers had purchased drugs from him at different locations.

Womble, 46, charged with three felony counts of selling or delivering a Schedule III controlled substance, three counts of possession with intent to distribute a Schedule III controlled substance, selling heroin, and possession with intent to sell or distribute a Schedule I controlled substance.

The controlled substance consisted of prescription pills and one dosage of heroin. Womble was processed and placed in Richmond County Jail under a $100,000.00 secure bond.

He is scheduled to appear on June 26 in Richmond County District Court.
