McInnis receives service, leadership award

Retired Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Detective Dan McInnis recently was awarded a service and leadership award from the North Carolina Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association.

“It means so much to me,” McInnis wrote on his Facebook page. “I love amy job and never dreaded going to work one day. I ran full throttle till my body ran out of gas.

McInnis’ wife and father were present for the award presentation, as was Sheriff James Clemmons Jr.
