Flash Flood Warning for Richmond County

Staff report

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Richmond County and a portion of central North Carolina, including Anson, Montgomery and Stanly counties. The weather warning is effective through 1 a.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service forecasts “multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall (that) will lead to an increased risk of flash flooding.”

According to the forecast, “several rounds of showers and storms with heavy rainfall are expected to impact central North Carolina today and tonight.”

Up to 3 inches of new rainfall will be possible.
