HAMLET — Two-thirds of the way through the membership appreciation lunch at the Hamlet Depot organized by the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce, nearly 20 percent — or about 75 of nearly 400 members — had stopped by for food and drinks.
The annual cookout serves as a measure of gratitude from chamber President Emily Tucker, Board Chairman Evans Shephard and board members to members of the nonprofit organization that aims to promote the interests of local business in Richmond County and the surrounding areas.
Members are in Richmond, Scotland, Montgomery and Anson counties.
“It’s a great opportunity for our chamber to show appreciation to its members,” Shephard said.
